Shed Slabs Byron Bay
From small backyard garden sheds to large farm sheds and rural workshops, we pour shed slabs that are clean, level and built to suit the structure they’re supporting. Every slab starts with proper ground preparation and a compacted base. We set up clean formwork, reinforce as needed and pour to suit the size and shape of your shed.
Good drainage and a smooth finish come as standard, so you can get straight to work once it’s cured. Whether you’re storing tools, machinery or garden gear, we’ll make sure your slab holds strong.

House Slabs Byron Bay
We build house slabs that are strong, stable and ready to support your new home from the ground up. These slabs require a higher level of planning and preparation, and we make sure every detail is considered — from ground conditions and base compaction to reinforcement, drainage and finish.
If needed, we can also include footings to help distribute the load and improve long-term structural stability. We work cleanly and efficiently to meet your build schedule without cutting corners. You’ll get a solid foundation that’s built to spec and poured properly from day one.

Patio Slabs Byron Bay
A solid patio slab is the foundation of any great outdoor space — whether it’s for entertaining, relaxing or connecting different parts of your yard. We pour patio slabs that are practical, level and built to integrate smoothly with existing surfaces. Good drainage is essential, so we take the time to grade the site properly and align the pour to suit your layout. Every slab is carefully measured, compacted, formed and poured with attention to the finish, ready for tiling, paving or leaving exposed. We’ll work with you to make sure your slab suits how you plan to use the space, not just how it looks on paper.

Tank Slabs Byron Bay
A good water tank is only as strong as the slab it sits on. We build tank slabs that are flat, well-drained and ready to support the full weight of your water storage — even when filled to capacity. That means compacted bases, tight formwork and the right reinforcement to stop cracking, shifting or sagging over time.
Whether it’s a small garden tank or a larger system for a rural property, we’ll make sure the base is stable, square and properly finished. There are no shortcuts or guesswork — just solid groundwork that gives your tank a long, reliable lifespan.
Call 0402 728 207 to arrange a tank slab that’s built to handle the load.
Footings Byron Bay
Footings play a critical role in supporting larger concrete structures like house slabs and retaining walls. We install reinforced concrete footings where required, helping to distribute weight evenly and prevent movement or cracking over time. Each footing is poured to suit the layout and ground conditions of the site, with proper compaction and formwork to ensure long-term stability.
Whether they’re part of a slab or a standalone element, we take the time to get the depth, width and finish right from the start. It’s not the most visible part of the job, but it’s one of the most important.

How thick should a concrete slab be for a shed or patio?
For most residential sheds and patios, a concrete slab should be at least 100mm thick. Light structures like garden sheds can get by with the minimum, but if you’re storing heavy equipment or want added durability, increasing the slab to 125mm or more may be a smart move. It’s also important to prepare a compacted base beneath the slab and consider reinforcement with mesh or rebar, especially for patios expected to carry heavier loads like outdoor kitchens or spa baths. Proper thickness and prep mean a longer-lasting, more stable surface.
Do shed slabs need footings?
Footings aren’t always necessary for shed slabs, but it depends on the size and intended use of the structure. Small garden sheds on level, well-compacted ground can usually sit on a floating slab without footings. Larger or heavier sheds — especially on sloped or unstable sites — may need strip footings around the perimeter to ensure proper load transfer and prevent cracking or shifting over time. A qualified concreter or builder can assess your site and help determine whether footings are recommended for your shed.
Can I pour a slab directly onto soil?
It’s not recommended. Pouring concrete directly onto untreated soil can lead to uneven settling, moisture issues and early cracking. Instead, a proper slab should be poured over a compacted base of crushed rock or gravel, usually 75–100mm thick. This base layer helps with stability and drainage. In some cases, a moisture barrier or plastic sheeting is added between the soil and the concrete to prevent rising damp and improve curing. Skipping this prep might save time upfront, but it usually leads to long-term problems.
